The Art, Engineering and Imagination of B.E.Johnson and Joy Alyssa Day

ABOUT OUR PRODUCTS

From Creating to Crating

Joy and BJ take great pride in presenting the best possible reproductions for you to enjoy. Our reproductions are original, signed by the artist(s) color lithographs or giclées. Many are numbered limited editions. All are made with care.

"We look at it this way: we enjoy our originals this way
—why shouldn't you?"

We both perform every aspect of the creative process, from creating the images up to, and including, the production and assembly of each piece and packaging it for shipping. Each individual image is scanned, processed and color corrected to accurately reflect the colors and values contained within the originals by us, the artists who created them.
Having extensive experience in four color lithography, right down to actually running a 36" 4-color sheet-fed press, when we decided to offer prints, it only made sense to invest in the equipment to do the job from start to finish.

"There is no one who knows the art better than the person who created it. Knowing how to reproduce it is invaluable."

Each and every print is hand produced in our studio to museum quality standards, printed on archival stocks using 100+ year archival pigment inks and packaged with care for delivery to your home or office.

Matting

We mount and mat all of our reproductions using 100% cotton rag board, ensuring an entirely acid free environment for the print. This prevents yellowing of the paper and deterioration of the inks from exposure to the acid normally used in paper production. We go to this extra care and expense to ensure that your print will stay as beautiful and vibrant as the day it arrived. We hand cut each mat to individually fit each print size and select, cut and assemble all of our own frames, matching them to the individual image and mat combination for the very best presentation.

Glazing

We use museum quality ultraviolet filter optical acrylic in all of our frames. The acrylic is half the weight of glass and affords additional protection of the rich colors from premature fading due to harmful UV rays striking the print. Even with the UV protection, it is always recommeded that prints not be displayed where they will be subjected to direct sunlight.

Canvas

Many of our images are available on canvas. These prints are stunning in their presentation, reproducing the texture and atmosphere of a canvas original. Each is hand varnished and stretched if it is to be framed in our shop.

Framing

Mouldings are chosen specifically to complement the image and the mat if the print is on archival paper. Our personal attention to your order takes a bit of time. Please allow ample time for framed items to be completed and shipped to you.

Options

You may purchase our prints as either "print only", "framed" "canvas print only" or "canvas framed". Regardless of your choice, all prints will be personally signed by one or both of us.

Sizes

All sizes listed refer to actual image sizes, without matting or framing. Matting and framing will add 4" to 10" to the overall dimensions, proportional to the size of the print. Larger sizes will have wider mats and frames to properly set off the image.

Our Personal Guarantee

We want our customers to be happy with their purchases. If your print is not everything we say, you may return it within 30 days for a refund minus shipping charges.
